YOKOTA TOKYO is pleased to present “Printed Matters: Nakanishi Natsuyuki—Works in and around Publications.”

Throughout his career, Nakanishi collaborated with many others on book design and publication-related work. Not only the books themselves, but also the materials and traces left around them convey the care with which the artist engaged with words, books, and the people around him.

In conjunction with a second volume of his collected writings, Tsuremai: Touching Down on Land and Touching Down on Water, or Stimulating the Lake Surface, this exhibition presents the publications he has worked on over the years, together with related materials related to their making.

We hope visitors will find here the many layers of experimentation and refinements that informed these works, as well as the collaborations that emerged through relationships with others.
